The eagerly awaited Patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV is about to be released on May 23rd. In a Letter from the Producer Live Part 77, the game developers shared exciting news and updates for the upcoming patch. With all of these updates, players can expect an even better gameplay experience with the new patch.

Patch 6.4 Live Letter: Condensed Summary for FFXIV

Introduction

The new patch includes additions to the Main Story Questline, a new dungeon, a new associated trial, and a new Unreal Trial rotation. The final raid tier for the Endwalker expansion is also set to be launched, and a new PvP season is on the horizon. Other features include duty support expansion, gearset expansion, job balance changes, and much more. Additionally, the winners of the weapon design contest will be implemented, and players can place up to 90 outdoor furnishings on their Island Sanctuary

Mainline Mainstory Questline, New Dungeon, New Trial

As a mainline patch, 6.4 will include additions to the Main Story Questline, including a new dungeon called the Aether Fawn and a new associated trial called the Voidwalker's Emanation (Extreme). The brand new Unreal Trial rotation will be Containment Bay Z1T9.

New Unreal Trail, Zurvan, Skip Soap or Disband

The final raid tier for the Endwalker expansion, called "Anamnesis Anyder (Savage)", will also be released, with the Savage version being launched one week later. There will be no maintenance; the quest will randomly be available, and the rewards structure will be updated.

New Savage Loot Rules Buff

The updated reward structure for Savage loot includes no duplicate armour pieces for the same slot, with the exception of rings. You can also get the body armour from the 11th floor, so it isn't locked to the final floor, and the last paragraph on this slide means there will only be one chest to open, but the rewards are the exact same. Changes have also been made to the books, and the body and leg gear now only require six books, while accessories require only three books.

Anamnesis Anyder (Savage) Preview

The preview for the new raid tier, Anamnesis Anyder (Savage), showcased some mechanics and combat voice lines, but the full fight was not shown.

Duty Support Expansion

Duty support has been added for a bunch of Stormblood expansion dungeons, making it easier for players who want to solo the story experience to get through them. Blue Mage is getting its level cap raised to level 80, new spells, new gear, custom Masked Carnival enemies, and a new Blue Mage duty.

Scholar Fairy Glam

The scholar will have fairy glamours added, allowing players to select from Eos, Selene, or a bunch of Carbuncle colours.

Gearset Expansion

Players will now have up to 100 gear sets to choose from, and they will get a job icon to show on their nameplates. The chat log icons will only display within parties and alliances.

UI Update Job Icon on Nameplates

The update also includes job icons on nameplates, making it easier for players to identify other players' jobs.

Marketboard UI Update

One of the new features in the patch is the update to the market board user interface. The market board will now display the total number of items available, making it easier to track the availability of an item. Another exciting update is that you can now display fashion accessories like glasses and wings even during battles or the overworld hunt train. Additionally, items stored anywhere can now be utilized when using the glamour system, specifically only in an in-room.

Job Balance Changes

The game developers aim to balance out the numbers within roles themselves, but they have yet to have any significant changes for patch 6.4. Dark Knight was heavily mentioned in the Japanese community, and instead of nerfing it, they planned to buff the other tanks up to its level. Buff ranges have also been increased to 30 yalms. Quality of life features have also been added to some skills, such as Paladin's Atonement, which won't break their main combo, and Dragoon's Jump and High Jump, which won't modify the character's actual positioning.

PvP Updates

PvP Series 4 and Season 7 of Crystalline Conflict will be launched in this update. Players in the top 100 rankings or in diamond or above can now add custom graphical effects to the Hellhound weapons. PvP Frontline Mode will be getting an update, which includes a new UI element displaying the scores and the time. There will also be more bounce passes for the frontline and additional rewards for the daily challenge frontline that will award PvP series experience.

PvP Frontline Rework

Frontline PvP mode will receive updates and a brand new UI element displaying the scores and the time. They did a massive overhaul of the map, and elegant homing bombs were removed. Large and small icebound Tomas has been added, which will remove more data, and owning other players will give tons of data as well.

Weapon Design Contest Winners

The winners of the weapon design contest will be implemented as tone stone rewards. Some of the designs are breathtaking, such as the Black Mage Lantern, the Repercise, and the Louis Vuitton Summoner Book.

Island Sanctuary

The Island Sanctuary is getting additions, with the ability to place up to 90 outdoor furnishings on your island, which has been a highly requested feature. You can place down furnishings glamorously using island prisms. Additionally, you can stack multiple glamors on a single item to have one statue in your inventory.

Understanding Variant and Criterion Dungeons

In the upcoming patch 6.45, players will have the opportunity to explore the new Barrington Criterion Dungeon in Mount Rakan. The concept of a variant criterion dungeon remains consistent with the rules structure of its predecessor. However, the developers have presented some demos to showcase its features.

Optimism for Mount Rokkon

As a player, We are optimistic about the upcoming Mount Rokkon release. It is geared towards group play and aligns with our collective vision for the game. We have faith in our developers and their ability to deliver a quality experience. Conclusion:

Patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV is set to bring a wealth of exciting new features and updates for players.
