Today's guide will outline the strategy for solo Hunters to farm gold in WoW Classic by acquiring Elemental Charms required for the Whirlwind Axe quest. The tactics here are precise and in-depth. With some market knowledge and effort, you'll be on your way to filling your pockets with gold.
↖ Gathering Life Root: It's Easy
The first material needed is Life Root. It's relatively easy to find and even easier to buy from herbalists.
↖ Farming Bloodscalp Tusks: For Warriors
Bloodscalp Tusks are only obtainable by Warriors on their questline. These do not concern us when we're looking to make gold but it gives an idea of how high demand will be later on.
↖ Farming Essence of the Exile: For Hunters
The Essence of the Exile is where we hunters shine. It requires Burning, Thundering, and Cresting Charms which drop from level 38-39 elementals in Azeroth. Although very difficult for a level 30 Warrior, these targets should be just right for a level 25 Hunter.
↖ Burning Exile farming strategy
Burning Exiles hit hard but they lack speed and other important abilities so engaging with Aimed Shot, Multi-Shot, then Auto Shot before kiting with Concussive Shot is ideal. You'll want to maintain distance while looping back during low health and get ready for another round. Drops charms at around 35% rate with potential Elemental Fire loot.
↖ Thundering Exile farming strategy
Thundering Exiles are going to be a little different. They have ranged attacks that you must move away from and Explosive Shot to bypass their immunity to Chimera Shot. Watch out for instant shock attacks on your pet and remember that gear management is key here.
↖ Cresting Exile farming strategy
Horde players will want to kite Cresting Exiles near Hammerfall's guards while making sure they deal at least 50% of the damage for loot eligibility. For Alliance you'll use almost the same kiting techniques as Burning Exiles but switch back to Chimera Shot.
↖ Now is the time: Farm when it matters
In Phase 2, Warriors will be out farming these charms. As skilled Hunters who can solo these elementals at high efficiency, there's no reason why we can't take advantage of this surge in demand.
↖ Conclusion: Your Road to Riches
With the Whirlwind Axe being as sought after as it is, there's no reason why you shouldn't use it as a way to make some gold in Season of Discovery Phase 2. The strategies laid out above should help you not only aid Warriors but also fill your own pockets with gold along the way.
